About Me

Hello everyone. You might wonder who I am. So here are some things about me.

Who am I?

I’m a Protestant Christian. I believe in the Triune God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. I believe the Bible is the holy word of God. I believe it was His perfect words (when He originally wrote it through many people in the Bible). This might sound like a church’s statement of beliefs, but it’s important for you to know my framework of thinking when I’m writing and as I live and interact with others.

I’m not on earth to be loved by people. What I try to focus on is being loved by God. He already loves me, and I don’t need to be an approval addict, needing people’s “love” and approval. Since I’m already loved by God, I seek to do His will and follow His lead in my life. I am loved by God and a believer in Jesus Christ, God the Son.

For all those who want to pick up stones at me, go ahead. I’m sure I’ll offend someone out there. My objective isn’t to offend you, but I will speak the truth to help you. Believe it or not, I want what’s best for you. Again, I’m not here to be your favorite; I’m here to spread the good news of Jesus Christ! I don’t hate you. I don’t want anyone to suffer or perish, and if you look a little deeper into my stories, you’ll find there’s hope for you as well. Don’t miss out on God’s greatest offer to you.

Just as Jesus Christ didn’t come to condemn the world, I’m not trying to condemn anyone in my writings. I’m here to try and give you lessons I’ve learned throughout my time on earth. I think stories stick with us. Jesus Christ often spoke in parables in the Bible. So stories are good devices to help people understand complex truths. I hope to do that with my writing as well.

Who I am really isn’t important. Essentially, I don’t want any glory in doing this writing because I want it all to go to God. If there are failings, that’s on me, though. But for the good that comes out of these writings, it’s all God working.

I’m chronically ill, so that paints a lot of how I see the world and God. While it stinks, I’ve actually learned a lot and developed a lot of character from my experiences through Christ.

Why did I become an author?

Writing stories has been something I’ve done since I was about 12 years old. I’ve written off and on from that point onwards. Not everything I wrote was… publish-worthy. Haha. When I was still in school, I realized that I had a passion for storytelling. And that passion has been shaped into a passion for moral-telling. I never want my stories to be something that’re just entertainment. I want to teach people valuable, Biblical lessons while entertaining them. I never want my stories to be without meaning. I’m a big fan of symbolism.

What’s up with the English and American mixed spelling?

Well, I use to get dinged in school when I used English spelling, but some words I learned were in English spelling, so I stuck with it. Also, don’t s’s usually look better than z’s or is that just me? Sometimes English spelling sounds better to me (towards vs. toward). And… I’m writing the book, so I can use whichever spelling I choose. Haha.

Why do I write the stories I do?

Every story needs moral meaning. Otherwise, it’s just fluff. Fluff doesn’t nourish you and help you grow. Fluff isn’t good for much but bunching up and sleeping on… Okay, that analogy only partially works, but you hopefully get the point.

I’ve seen so many movies, read books, listened to songs, and they seem so devoid of actual meaningful content. It makes me sad to see this fluff out in the world. We don’t need any more books, music, or movies glorifying that which isn’t God. In my own writing, I try to make Biblical themes. I think entertainment’s fine, but make sure it’s clean and isn’t pointless. I aim to write clean books that mean something beyond just entertainment. It’s almost like creating a chocolate cake that actually gives you good nutrition!

Why are my books so slow or dull?

I kind of want my books to reflect actual life. Life isn’t all action all the time. There are very mundane moments in the day, so some of my stories might reflect this quality. Sure, I could’ve changed them to be more action, but I left them the way they are. If something seems weird in pacing, it’s probably not because I’m not aware. It’s probably deliberately left that way. Sometimes life is so tedious and then BAM! everything is happening all at once, so quickly we can’t even comprehend what just happened.

Or I’m just lazy. Haha.

Perhaps it’s a bit of both.
